Make sure you are comfortable with the previous stages before attempting it from the standing position. Do not let the legs extend during this or you will fall directly onto your tailbone. Again, keeping that egg shape in the back is a key to successfully slapping out.
This is the “walk before running” phase of the slap out. It is important to feel comfortable as we fall towards the ground so starting in a horse stance will allow an easier transition before standing.
After starting on the ground to eliminate the effects of gravity as much as possible, we have to start elevating off the ground. Making sure to keep all other components of the slap out in tact as we come into contact with the ground is the challenge here.
A key element to maintaining your safety during training is knowing how to fall properly. These videos are going to develop a proficiency with falling backwards and developing a “slap out”.
